Our first aid course for children and infants teaches you how to recognise danger and what to do step by step before help arrives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The course lasts 4 training hours and largely consists of exercises on realistic child and infant manikins. back blows and abdominal thrusts for an older child.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>The recovery position, calling for help and apps that help with it.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Responding to selected medical emergencies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will find the full programme above, in the \u201cFirst Aid for Children and Infants\u201d tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why is first aid for a child different?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In children, cardiac arrest most often has a respiratory cause \u2013 e.g. choking or near-drowning \u2013 which is why resuscitation starts with rescue breaths and only then chest compressions. The compression technique is also different: in an infant the chest is compressed with two fingers or two thumbs, and in an older child \u2013 with one or two hands. These differences are best learned in practice, on a manikin, not from a video or a book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A course for a group of parents<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will run the course for parents at a place of your choice \u2013 e.g. at a nursery for nursery parents, at an antenatal class or for a group of friends. We can also organise it at the Ratowacze training centre in Krak\u00f3w, Niepo\u0142omice or Kielce. We are constantly expanding our training base \u2013 more permanent locations are planned.
