The dry ice instant cold pack<\/strong> is a single-use pack that works well for injuries and sprains \u2013 it relieves pain and reduces swelling.<\/p>\n

The pack does not need a freezer: to activate it, squeeze the bag at the marked point \u2013 this starts a reaction that lowers the temperature to approx. -5\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Injury, bruise, sprain \u2013 a cold compress<\/h2>\n

For a bruise, sprain or dislocation, rest and immobilise the limb and cool the injured area to limit pain and swelling. Do not apply a cold pack directly to the skin \u2013 wrap it in a thin cloth \u2013 and cool for a dozen or so minutes, with breaks, so as not to cause frostbite. Do not cool open wounds.
