Smart Pads II electrodes for Philips FRx are therapy electrodes intended for the Philips HeartStart FRx defibrillator. They are universal: the same model is intended for children and adults, so there is no need to buy different types of electrodes for patients of different age groups. The connector length is 121 cm.

The defibrillator carries out daily self-tests, during which it checks that the electrodes are connected correctly and how moist the hydrogel is. The electrodes are packed in a semi-rigid pack that protects them from damage and drying out.

Thanks to adapters, the electrodes can also be connected to advanced rescue defibrillators, that is, manual defibrillators. The product code is PF3. Smart Pads II electrodes for Philips FRx have pictures on each electrode that show where to place it on the chest.

Why choose Smart Pads II electrodes for Philips FRx?

Smart Pads II electrodes for Philips FRx have pictures on the pack and on each electrode showing the exact place to apply them on the casualty's chest. The pictures help people who have had no previous AED defibrillator course to use the electrodes correctly. Thanks to them, the placement is easier to identify and the rescue can run more smoothly.

One version of the electrodes for children and adults simplifies the equipment of the Philips HeartStart FRx defibrillator. You will find other accessories of this type in the category AED defibrillator electrodes.

How to use Smart Pads II electrodes during a rescue

First, make sure the scene is safe for you and the casualty. Call for help on 999 or 112 and ask someone to bring the defibrillator. When the defibrillator is next to the casualty, apply the electrodes in the places shown in the pictures on the electrodes, and then follow the device's instructions. A bystander taking action can decide whether the casualty survives.

It is worth knowing the sequence of actions before an incident occurs. It is described in the article Chapter VIII – Automated external defibrillator (AED).
