TRAUMAKIT Mini CPR personal protection is a blue-marked module in the smaller version of the TRAUMAKIT modular first aid kits. It is designed to protect the person giving help: it limits direct contact with the casualty and makes it possible to perform CPR. It can be used on its own or added to the TRAUMAKIT Mini modular first aid kit.

The set includes: 2 pairs of disposable nitrile gloves in size L (1 envelope), 2 pairs in size M (1 envelope), a Pocket Mask for CPR, a mini head torch, rescue scissors 16.5 cm long, a 3-layer surgical protective mask and instructions.

The whole set measures 15 x 14 x 7 cm (H x W x D), weighs 0.195 kg and is made of PET12/PE80. Its small size makes it easy to take in a bag or backpack. It is useful for office and technical staff, pupils, students and people who spend time actively outdoors. TRAUMAKIT Mini CPR personal protection holds gloves in sizes M and L, which makes it easier to choose a pair that fits the hands of the person giving help.

Why choose the TRAUMAKIT Mini CPR personal protection module?

During CPR and other rescue actions the Rescuer is in contact with the casualty, so it is important to have protective equipment to hand. This module brings it together in one place: nitrile gloves in two sizes, a surgical mask and a Pocket Mask for ventilation. With two glove sizes, it is easier to choose the right pair for your hands. TRAUMAKIT Mini CPR personal protection has a blue marking that helps you quickly recognise it among other equipment.

The head torch is useful when the rescue takes place in poor visibility or at night and both hands are needed for the work. The 16.5 cm rescue scissors add a tool to the set that you do not have to search for in an emergency. To find out what ventilation during CPR looks like, read the article Mouth-to-mouth in practice: how to ventilate a casualty correctly?

How to use a personal protection set during CPR?

First make sure the scene is safe for you, the casualty and bystanders. Put on gloves and check the casualty's response and breathing. If they are unresponsive and not breathing normally, call for help on 999 or 112 and start chest compressions. Use the Pocket Mask only if you know how to use it. It is worth practising this beforehand on a course, and the set also includes instructions.

After use, replace the used items, as the gloves are disposable. You will find a detailed description of the procedure in the article Basic life support: CPR. Remember that a bystander taking action may decide whether the casualty survives.
