Chusty Laerdal Manikin Face Shields are disposable, non-medical accessories intended for CPR training on manikins. The shield with a filter provides hygiene when practising rescue breaths, and the whole product is supplied as a roll.

One roll contains 36 disposable shields. The packaging dimensions are 21 x 5 x 5 cm (h x w x d). The manufacturer is Laerdal.

The accessory is intended for people who run first aid courses and for Participants practising rescue breaths on a manikin. Chusty Laerdal Manikin Face Shields are intended for CPR training on manikins, not for a real rescue.

Why use Chusty Laerdal Manikin Face Shields on a first aid course?

During rescue breath practice, many people perform the same actions one after another on a single manikin. A shield with a filter brings hygiene into this training, and because it is disposable, each Participant can practise with their own shield.

A roll of 36 pieces makes it easier to prepare a session, and the small dimensions of 21 x 5 x 5 cm make it easy to judge how much space is needed. You will find other practice equipment in the category Manikin accessories.

How to practise rescue breaths on a manikin with a shield?

The training should reproduce the sequence of actions from a real incident: assessing safety, checking the condition of the casualty, calling for help on 999 or 112, starting CPR and using an AED when one is available.

The shield is a non-medical, disposable accessory, so it should not be used again after practice. You can read about ventilation technique in detail in the article Mouth-to-mouth in practice: how to ventilate a casualty correctly?
