Laerdal Little Junior manikin jacket is a TRAUMA KIT training accessory designed for the Laerdal Little Junior QCPR manikin. It increases the durability and hygiene of the manikin by protecting it from damage.

It is used during first aid courses. A course Participant can concentrate on learning without worrying about keeping the manikin clean, while the Trainee practises realistically undressing a casualty, a skill that is key in emergency situations.

The jacket material is Oxford PU 200g/m2 and Polyester 440 g/m2. Fitting is easy, so the manikin can be quickly prepared for the next sessions.

Why choose a Laerdal Little Junior manikin jacket?

Laerdal Little Junior manikin jacket increases the durability and hygiene of the manikin by protecting it from damage. For the instructor this means equipment with a longer service life, and for the Participant the chance to practise without worrying about the cleanliness of the manikin.

It also has educational value: Trainees develop the habit of realistically undressing a casualty. You will find other accessories of this type in the category Manikin accessories.

Preparing the manikin and undressing during practice

The jacket is put on the manikin before the session. Fitting is easy, so preparing the manikin for the next sessions does not take long. During practice the Trainee undoes the jacket just like the clothing of a real casualty.

In a real incident, first make sure it is safe, then check for consciousness and breathing and call for help on 999 or 112. If the person does not respond and is not breathing normally, start CPR. Undoing clothing matters when you need to move on to chest compressions. We describe the principles of resuscitation in the article Basic life support: CPR. A bystander taking action can decide whether the casualty survives.
