AED Climate BOX Alarm Cabinet is a model from the AED Climate Box series 3 (ACB-3), designed for indoor mounting. It holds an AED with a bracket of up to 23 x 31 x 9.5 cm. The cabinet itself measures 30 x 40 x 13.5 cm and weighs 3.8 kg.

The body is made of 1 mm galvanised steel and painted with UV-resistant textured paint. The door has a 5 mm plexi window with a UV filter, through which the device can be seen. Gravity ventilation provides passive airflow through the ventilation channels.

Opening the door triggers an acoustic alarm with a volume of 72 dB at a distance of 1 m, powered by three 3 × LR44 batteries. The cabinet also has holes prepared for security seals. The versions differ only in the colour of the frame on the door: green, orange or yellow. All other parameters are the same. Why does the AED Climate BOX Alarm cabinet have an alarm and ventilation?

The alarm responds to the door being opened, so it gives an audible signal immediately. This helps with basic access control and with attempts at unauthorised opening. The mounting holes allow security seals to be fitted to guard against tampering. AED Climate BOX Alarm Cabinet sets off an alarm with a volume of 72 dB at a distance of 1 m.

Gravity ventilation works passively, without power. The cabinet is intended for indoor mounting only, and its operating parameters are a temperature from 5⁰C to 40⁰C and IP20 protection. The AED Climate BOX Alarm cabinet measures 30 x 40 x 13.5 cm and holds an AED with a bracket of up to 23 x 31 x 9.5 cm.

Mounting and using an AED cabinet in practice

Before buying, compare the dimensions of your defibrillator together with its bracket against the maximum interior dimensions: 23 x 31 x 9.5 cm. The alarm is battery-powered (3 × LR44), so take this into account when checking the cabinet. If you plan to use seals, use the prepared mounting holes.

The cabinet is there to keep the AED on site and visible at the moment of cardiac arrest. In that situation, first make sure you are safe, call for help on 999 or 112 and start CPR. A bystander taking action can decide whether the casualty survives. How to use the device is described in the article on the automated external defibrillator AED. You can read about the rules for making the call in the text on the emergency number 112 and calling for help.
