Israeli-type individual dressing with pressure bar 4″ is an Israeli-type personal dressing in the military (green) version, vacuum-packed in hermetic, waterproof packaging. The bandage is 10 cm wide and 4.5 m long at maximum stretch, with a highly absorbent cotton pad. It is simple to use, so it suits rescuers as well as people without medical training.
The plastic pressure element (clip) lets you change the direction of bandaging and apply extra pressure to the wound, and the dressing ends with a fastener that stops it from unwinding once applied. The dressing is applied with one hand. It acts as a personal, pressure and support dressing.
The pack contains instructions in Polish with pictograms. The dressing allows wounds to be treated in line with TCCC guidelines. It is sterile and single-use, with a shelf life of 5 years from manufacture. Store it away from moisture and sunlight and do not use it if the packaging is damaged. How to apply an Israeli bandage?
Put on gloves and expose the wound. Pack a deep wound with gauze first. Place the pad on the wound and wrap the bandage around the limb; on the first turn pass the bandage through the clip, reverse it and pull in the opposite direction – the clip presses the pad firmly onto the wound. Keep wrapping with firm tension and secure the end with the fastener. Check circulation below the dressing. For massive bleeding from a limb that you cannot stop, apply a tourniquet. Call for help on 112 – action taken by a bystander can decide whether the casualty survives. The dressings are single-use.
