KLOTPAD Z-Fold haemostatic dressing (KIWOOM MEDICS) is haemostatic gauze with a high kaolin concentration, measuring 7.5 cm × 3.7 m, Z-folded and packed in waterproof packaging. It is used to pack wounds with massive haemorrhage, including arterial bleeding.

Kaolin is a natural inorganic mineral that supports the natural blood clotting process and speeds up clot formation. The dressing contains no shellfish, chitosan or animal proteins, so it can be used on people with allergies. It causes no exothermic reaction – it does not burn tissue.

Clotting is achieved by manual pressure on the bleeding point – KLOTPAD speeds it up within a few minutes. The dried non-woven material absorbs blood well and sheds less lint than ordinary cotton gauze. Lines visible on X-ray make it easier to find and remove the dressing in hospital. The sterile packaging has pictogram instructions. KLOTPAD Z-Fold haemostatic dressing fits in an IFAK.
