Pads for the Philips HeartStart HS1 are adult pads – for people over 8 years of age and 25 kg – for the Philips HeartStart HS1defibrillator. The cartridge contains one pair of pads.
The pads are packed in a rigid plastic case that protects them from damage and drying out, extending their shelf life. The strong hydrogel adhesive makes them easy to apply even in difficult conditions. During self-tests the defibrillator checks the pad connection and the condition of the gel – if the pads lose conductivity, the device will tell you they need replacing.
The packaging and each pad carry clear diagrams showing where to place them. The cable is approx. 135 cm long and the shelf life is approx. 24 months. For children under 8 years or 25 kg, paediatric pads are recommended. Pads for the Philips HeartStart HS1 are single-use – replace the whole cartridge after a rescue.
For children, use the HS1 paediatric pads, and for training – HS1 training set. Pads for the Philips HeartStart HS1 are worth keeping in reserve with every HS1 defibrillator.
Why Philips HeartStart HS1 pads in a cartridge?
The cartridge is more than packaging – in the HS1 it is part of the readiness system. It protects the gel from drying out, and the defibrillator continuously checks the condition of the pads. So you never have to guess whether the pads are still usable.
You will find other electrodes in the category AED defibrillator accessories.
AED electrodes – how to apply them?
On an adult, place one electrode below the right collarbone, next to the breastbone, and the other on the left side of the chest, below the armpit. The skin must be bare and dry – if necessary, dry it or remove excess hair. The electrodes are single-use: they must be replaced after use in a rescue, after the packaging has been opened or after the expiry date. Nobody touches the casualty during rhythm analysis and the shock.
