The Defibtech Lifeline 7-year battery is the main battery for the Defibtech Lifeline AED defibrillator with a seven-year shelf life. It is a lithium-manganese battery that does not need charging.
During its shelf life it allows approx. 300 shocks or 16 hours of continuous operation. It comes packaged with a 9V auxiliary battery that powers the defibrillator's status indicator – the light that shows the result of the daily self-tests.
The Defibtech Lifeline 7-year battery is the choice for AEDs that hang in a fixed place and are rarely used. A shorter-life option is the Defibtech Lifeline 5-year battery, and the 9V battery on its own is available as the 9V auxiliary battery.
Why the Defibtech Lifeline 7-year battery?
The longer the battery's shelf life, the less often you have to remember to replace it – and a forgotten battery is the most common reason an AED is not ready when it is needed. The Defibtech Lifeline 7-year battery reduces the number of replacements over the device's entire service life.

Early defibrillation – a link in the chain of survival
The chance of surviving sudden cardiac arrest depends on calling for help quickly, immediate resuscitation and the earliest possible defibrillation. Every minute of delay reduces this chance, which is why an AED must always be charged and ready. A bystander who starts compressions and brings the defibrillator buys time until the emergency medical team arrives.
