The universal electrodes for Vivest A1/A3 (D0702112) are single-use, self-adhesive electrodes for Vivest A-series defibrillators: Vivest A1 and Vivest A3 (formerly X1 and X3). They are adult-sized but can also be used on children.
On adults the electrodes are placed anterior–anterior, on children anterior–posterior. Instructions are on the packaging and on each electrode. The cable connector protrudes from the packaging, so the electrodes can be connected to the AED immediately after purchase – this shortens the response time during a rescue. The packaging is not opened before use, as the hydrogel only retains its properties in sealed packaging.
The conductive area is 76 cm², the cable is 110 cm (90 cm in the packaging, 20 cm outside), and the shelf life is up to 60 months. Power is provided by the Vivest A1/A3 battery. The universal electrodes for Vivest A1/A3 store connected to the defibrillator, in unopened packaging.

Universal electrodes – adult and child
Universal electrodes let you rescue both an adult and a child – usually after switching the defibrillator to paediatric mode. On an adult they are placed on the front of the chest (below the right collarbone and on the left side), and on a small child usually front and back so that they do not touch. The electrodes are single-use – they must be replaced after a rescue, after the packaging has been opened or after the expiry date.
