LBTR GEN2 large military backpack (Large Backpack Trauma Responder, Black Front) is a backpack for combat medics, emergency services and anyone who needs a lot of medical equipment to hand. It combines simplicity with well-thought-out organisation that makes reaching all the equipment quick and intuitive. The second generation is made of genuine CORDURA® fabric and has a redesigned carrying system that allows the shoulder straps to be fully detached. The backpack is the largest element of the Black Front Trauma Responder system. It can be combined with the SBTR small backpack, the large TR pouch and the small PTR personal pouch in the PALS/MOLLE (Laser Cut) standard, increasing or reducing capacity as needed.
The set includes 6 modular pouches (5 × 27 × 14 × 7 cm and 1 × 27 × 14 × 15 cm) with a transparent wall and a field for labelling the module. Hook-and-loop in the compartment and on the pouch bottoms holds the modules in place even when the backpack is open, and 5 elastic straps on the sides secure additional equipment. On the inner flap there is a zipped pocket and a tear-off panel with a grid of loops and shock cord for your own configuration. The front and sides have Laser Cut, the front has a hook-and-loop panel for patches, and two bottom straps let you attach e.g. a sheet stretcher.
The backpack is made of CORDURA® fabric, resistant to abrasion and weather, with light stiffeners to protect the equipment. Splash-proof YKK zips protect the interior from moisture and dirt, and the plastic parts are Duraflex. The padded shoulder straps have an adjustable hip and chest belt. Dimensions: 56 × 34 × 17 cm, capacity approx. 32 l, colours: black and red. Optionally the backpack can be fitted with a tear-off panel with a medical oxygen cylinder holder or two additional tear-off panels on the bottom in place of the pouches. How to pack a rescue backpack?
Divide the equipment into modules by threat: haemorrhage, airway, breathing, immobilisation, thermal protection. Keep the most needed items – tourniquets and pressure dressings – on the tear-off panel or in a pouch on top. Label the modules and regularly check expiry dates. At the scene, first make sure it is safe, then control massive bleeding and call 112 – action taken by a bystander can decide whether the casualty survives.
