SAM Medical – bleeding control equipment

With massive bleeding from a limb, the first choice is a tourniquet applied above the wound, not over a joint. Wounds where a tourniquet cannot be applied are packed with gauze – ideally haemostatic – and pressed, then secured with a pressure dressing.
