The Vivest P1 rechargeable battery is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery for the pocket defibrillator ViVest Pocket AED P1 in its rechargeable version. It has a voltage of 7.2 V and a capacity of 3450 mAh.
According to the manufacturer, the battery provides at least 250 shocks of 150 J at 20°C (±2°C) and at least 200 shocks at -15°C. After the first low-battery reminder it allows at least another 30 shocks.
The maximum continuous operating time is at least 10 hours (at 20°C ±5°C, without shocks, with CPR guidance and heart rhythm analysis), and after the low-battery reminder at least 1.5 hours. On standby, with a weekly self-test and without mains connection, the battery lasts 3 months before recharging. Its service life is up to 5 years or 300 charge and discharge cycles if stored according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
The Vivest P1 rechargeable battery measures 7.5 × 4.1 × 3 cm and weighs 120 g. It is charged in the Vivest P1/P3 battery charger. For the version of the defibrillator powered by a disposable battery, use the Vivest P1 battery.
Why have a spare Vivest P1 rechargeable battery?
A defibrillator is only ready for use when its power supply works. A battery on standby needs recharging every 3 months, and after a few years or several hundred cycles it loses performance. A spare Vivest P1 rechargeable battery lets you replace a worn one immediately without taking the AED out of service. A spare Vivest P1 rechargeable battery is especially useful where the AED is often used for training or demonstrations.
It is worth appointing a person responsible for the AED who regularly checks the readiness indicator and makes sure it is charged. You will find other batteries in the category AED defibrillator batteries.
An AED – working and available at all times
In sudden cardiac arrest time matters: the earlier defibrillation takes place, the greater the chance of survival. That is why an AED should hang in a known, signposted place, with a charged battery and valid electrodes. When someone is unresponsive and not breathing normally, call for help, start chest compressions and ask for the defibrillator to be brought.
