SMART Pads II for the Philips FRx are universal rescue pads for the Philips HeartStart FRxdefibrillator. They can be used on both adults and children – on children after inserting the Philips FRx paediatric key.
This means there is no need to have different types of pads for different age groups. Every package has a clear drawing showing where to place the pads on the chest – the graphic makes the defibrillator easier to use even for people without experience.
The pads have a shelf life of at least 24 months. The pads are single-use – they must be replaced after a rescue. SMART Pads II for the Philips FRx keep them in intact packaging, together with the defibrillator and the paediatric key.
Why are SMART Pads II for the Philips FRx convenient?
One type of pads in the defibrillator and a paediatric key in the bag – that is the whole set needed to help an adult and a child. Fewer items mean fewer mistakes under stress and simpler device inspections. SMART Pads II for the Philips FRx check at every AED inspection.
You will find other electrodes in the category AED defibrillator accessories.
Universal electrodes – adult and child
Universal pads let you rescue both an adult and a child – usually after switching the defibrillator to paediatric mode or inserting a key. On an adult they are placed on the front of the chest (below the right collarbone and on the left side), and on a small child usually on the front and back, so that they do not touch.
