Defibtech Training Electrodes are a single set, i.e. 1 pair of training electrodes for adults. They make it possible to run AED courses and are designed for the Lifeline Trainer device.
The electrode pads have a semi-adhesive coating, which means the electrodes are designed for repeated use. When the pads wear out, they can be replaced with new ones, without having to replace the whole electrodes.
This is training equipment only. These electrodes cannot deliver a defibrillation shock in a real rescue, so they do not replace the defibrillator electrodes used in a real incident. The set contains 1 pair.
What are Defibtech training electrodes used for?
Defibtech Training Electrodes separate learning from a real rescue. Since they do not deliver a defibrillation shock, they are used for practice only: a course Participant can repeat the successive steps of using an AED on a set designed for adults.
The semi-adhesive pads are designed for repeated use, and once worn they are replaced with new ones without replacing the whole electrodes. You can find other models in the category AED defibrillator electrodes.
AED use principles you practise with training electrodes
During practice it is worth recreating the full sequence: first assessing the safety of the scene, checking the casualty's response and breathing, calling for help on 999 or 112, performing chest compressions, attaching the AED as soon as it is available, and following the device's instructions. A bystander's decision to act can determine whether the casualty survives, so this sequence should be mastered.
Defibtech Training Electrodes should be used only in practice, never in a real rescue. You can read more about the device in the article Chapter VIII – Automated external defibrillator (AED).
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Are Defibtech training electrodes suitable for a real rescue?
No. They cannot be used to deliver a defibrillation shock in a real rescue. They are intended solely for AED courses.
Who is this set intended for and which device is it for?
It is a single set (1 pair) of training electrodes for adults, designed for the Lifeline Trainer.
What should I do when the pads wear out?
The pads can be replaced with new ones, without having to replace the whole electrodes. The pads have a semi-adhesive coating, and the electrodes are designed for repeated use.
