WoundClot ABC Twin Pack haemostatic gauze contains an advanced three-dimensional gel matrix. On contact with blood it turns into a strongly adhesive structure that stabilises the wound and stops the bleeding. The dressing absorbs blood up to 25 times its own weight.
The pack contains 2 sterile gauzes measuring 5 x 5 cm. They are intended for the external control of bleeding from superficial wounds, minor cuts and grazes. The gauze can also be applied by a person without training, and the product is suitable for first aid kits.
Why WoundClot ABC Twin Pack haemostatic gauze?
The 5 x 5 cm size and two pieces in the pack suit the superficial wounds, minor cuts and grazes this device is intended for. The gel matrix reacts with blood and adheres to the wound, which stabilises it. WoundClot ABC Twin Pack haemostatic gauze works well in a first aid kit as a sterile dressing for minor cuts and grazes.
Once it has done its job, the gauze is removed atraumatically and painlessly, which reduces the risk of renewed bleeding and tissue damage. The device is sterile and single-use, and its shelf life is up to 5 years. Store it in a dry place at room temperature, from 5°C to 35°C. The gauze can also be applied by a person without training. The two gauzes in the WoundClot ABC Twin Pack haemostatic gauze set measure 5 x 5 cm and are individually packed.
How to use the gauze and what to do in the case of bleeding
Before use, check that the individual pack is undamaged and that the expiry date has not passed. Sterility is maintained only while the pack is closed. Once opened, use the gauze in full, do not reuse it and do not re-sterilise it.
The 5 x 5 cm gauze is intended for superficial wounds and minor cuts. In the case of massive bleeding, first make sure you are safe and call for help on 999 or 112. Then apply direct pressure, and for life-threatening bleeding from a limb apply a tourniquet. Action taken by a bystander can decide whether the casualty survives.
