Why the dry ice instant cold pack?
On the pitch, in the mountains or at work there is no ice, and cooling an injury in the first few minutes limits swelling and pain. The pack is ready as soon as it is squeezed. The dry ice instant cold pack apply through a thin layer of fabric.
A cooling spray is the Icemix 400 ml freeze spray. You will find others in the category burn gels and cooling.
Injury, bruise, sprain – a cold compress
For a bruise, sprain or dislocation, rest and immobilise the limb and cool the injured area to limit pain and swelling. Do not apply a cold pack directly to the skin – wrap it in a thin cloth – and cool for a dozen or so minutes, with breaks, so as not to cause frostbite. Do not cool open wounds. If you suspect a fracture, or there is severe pain, deformity or loss of sensation, contact a doctor or call 112.
