Why use a COMFORT Ensafe evacuation mattress to transport lying persons?
In places where standard evacuation chairs cannot be used, such as care homes or hospitals, materac ewakuacyjny COMFORT Ensafe allows a person lying down to be moved, including after medical procedures. It works on stairs and on flat surfaces, so the same equipment can handle both sections of the evacuation route.
Reflective elements on the surface improve the visibility of the mattress in poor lighting conditions. Uses include hospitals, bus and railway stations, industrial plants, events and outdoor gatherings, narrow staircases and fire services.
Rules for using the evacuation mattress
Before you start transporting, assess the hazard and make sure you are safe, and if life is at risk, call for help on 999 or 112. After placing the person on the mattress, close the hook-and-loop fasteners forming the "cocoon" and fasten the additional straps so that the person cannot shift. Transport is carried out by the straps at the head and foot ends, and the load must not exceed 210 kg. This is evacuation equipment, so it should be used by a person trained in its use.
How to recognise a hazard before you take action is explained in the article Chapter III – Recognising danger.
