adult Pad-Pak is a single-use module with a battery and self-adhesive electrodes for HeartSine Samaritan PAD defibrillators: 350P, 360P and 500P, as well as the older 300P. It is intended for adults and children over 8 years or 25 kg.
The module has one expiry date – 4 years from the date of manufacture – so instead of tracking two dates you replace one item. A new battery (LiMnO2, 18 V) is enough for over 60 shocks of 200 J or 6 hours of operation. The electrodes have an area of 100 cm² and the leads are 1 m long.
A spare Pad-Pak is worth keeping in the back pocket of the Samaritan PAD bag. For children aged 1–8 or up to 25 kg, use the PEDI-PAK paediatric module. adult Pad-Pak replace after every use of the defibrillator.
Why the adult Pad-Pak?
After a rescue or after 4 years, you only need to replace one module to make the defibrillator ready again. This is simpler and safer than tracking separate battery and electrode dates. adult Pad-Pak store in its unopened packaging at 0–50°C.

AED electrodes – how to apply them?
On an adult, place one electrode below the right collarbone, next to the breastbone, and the other on the left side of the chest, below the armpit. The skin must be bare and dry. The electrodes are single-use – they must be replaced after use in a rescue, after the packaging has been opened or after the expiry date. Nobody touches the casualty during rhythm analysis and the shock.
