Rules for practising massive bleeding control on trainers
It is worth basing the exercise scenario on the correct order of actions: first assess safety, then call for help on 999 or 112. For massive bleeding, direct pressure is used, and a tourniquet is applied when life-threatening bleeding from a limb occurs. On the T3 trainer the Trainee practises exactly this stage, and on the wound packing trainer – controlling bleeding by packing the wound.
