Samaritan PAD 350P AED defibrillator by HeartSine (Stryker) is a semi-automatic AED for public places, offices and workplaces. Operation comes down to two buttons: the green one switches the device on and the orange one delivers the shock when the defibrillator advises it. Voice prompts and graphics on the panel guide the rescuer through the whole rescue, including CPR, and a metronome sets the compression rate.
The battery and electrodes are combined in one Pad-Pak module with a single expiry date – 4 years from the date of manufacture. Instead of tracking two dates, you replace one item every four years. For children aged 1–8 or up to 25 kg, use the PEDI-PAK paediatric module – the defibrillator then delivers 50 J. A spare adult Pad-Pak is worth keeping in the back pocket of the Samaritan PAD bag.
The device weighs 1.1 kg, measures 20 × 18.4 × 4.8 cm and has an IP56 rating, so it is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. It operates at 0°C to 50°C, and a weekly self-test confirms readiness with a flashing LED. Adult shock energies are 150, 150 and 200 J; charging to 150 J takes under 8 seconds. The memory stores 90 minutes of ECG and the event log. Samaritan PAD 350P AED defibrillator requires the Pad-Pak module to be replaced after each use.
Why the Samaritan PAD 350P AED defibrillator?
Its low weight and high ingress protection make the 350P easy to carry and mount even in a tight spot. A single Pad-Pak module simplifies maintenance – after a rescue or after 4 years you replace one item. Samaritan PAD 350P AED defibrillator should be kept in a visible, signposted place so that anyone can reach it quickly.
The automatic version is the Samaritan PAD 360P, and the version with a CPR advisor is the Samaritan PAD 500P. You will find other models in the category AED defibrillators and accessories. The Samaritan PAD 350P AED defibrillator works well where the device may be used by bystanders.
An AED ready at all times
A defibrillator only helps if it works and can be reached quickly. Appoint a person to regularly check the readiness indicator and the expiry dates of the battery and electrodes. When someone is unresponsive and not breathing normally, call 112, start chest compressions and ask for an AED to be brought – action taken by a bystander can decide whether the casualty survives.
