The Brayden OBI conversion kit is a way to use the Brayden OBI manikin with your existing Adult manikins. The Brayden OBI is a Black adult manikin for learning and training cardiopulmonary resuscitation – available as a complete manikin, e.g. the Brayden OBI Basic, or as this conversion kit.
The kit contains a face skin and a torso skin. The anatomically accurate nose and mouth are representative of a Black adult male, allowing realistic ventilation training. The skin of Brayden manikins is made of latex-free materials, training pads stick to it and peel off easily, and it feels very much like human skin.
After conversion, the manikin keeps adult characteristics: chest resistance representative of an average adult, clear anatomical landmarks (ribs, xiphoid process) and a movable neck that allows head tilt and chin lift. The Brayden OBI conversion kit brings diversity to the course – trainees practise on manikins with different appearances, just as casualties differ in reality.

High-quality compressions
Compress the centre of the chest to a depth of 5–6 cm at a rate of 100–120 per minute, letting the chest fully recoil. After 30 compressions, give 2 rescue breaths. A manikin with adult characteristics lets you consolidate these values before a real rescue.
