Xmetix – equipment for stopping bleeding
With massive bleeding from a limb, the first choice is a tourniquet applied above the wound, not over a joint. Wounds where a tourniquet cannot be applied are packed with gauze – ideally haemostatic – and pressed, then secured with a pressure dressing. You can read more in the article Massive haemorrhage – first aid, and all equipment can be found in the category STOP BLEEDING.
Manufacturer and availability
The manufacturer is XMetix Ltd. Details of the manufacturer and the responsible entity are provided in the information for each product. We update product availability on an ongoing basis – if you can add a product to the basket, we will dispatch it within 3 working days. If you need a larger quantity or are not sure which product to choose – write to us, and we will advise.
Equipment is half the battle – the other half is knowing how to use it. In a life-threatening situation, action taken by a bystander can decide whether the casualty survives, which is why we invite you to massive bleeding control training.
