Why choose the TRAUMA KIT R-0 personal protection KIT?
This module focuses on what you need before you start helping and when you finish: the gloves protect against biological contact, and two separate products let you disinfect the skin and your hands. The NRC foil/thermal blanket is used to retain warmth, and the safety hammer to quickly leave a vehicle in an emergency. By choosing the TRAUMA KIT R-0 personal protection KIT, you get a safety hammer for quickly leaving a vehicle in an emergency. TRAUMA KIT R-0 personal protection KIT can be a standalone kit or an element of the larger TRAUMA KIT R-0 system.
A separate personal protection module is easy to supplement with the other elements of the system. You can read about how to choose equipment in the article A first aid kit ready for massive bleeding.
Rules of use when giving first aid
First assess your own safety and the safety of the scene, then call for help on 999 or 112. Put on gloves before coming into contact with the casualty. In massive bleeding, direct pressure is applied, and when bleeding from a limb is life-threatening, a tourniquet. This module contains no dressings or tourniquets, so for these actions you need supplies from other modules. A bystander taking action can determine whether the casualty survives.
Use the NRC foil/thermal blanket to protect the casualty from heat loss, and after you finish helping, disinfect your hands with the included liquid. The included instructions will help you use the equipment correctly. You will find practical rules of conduct in the article Massive haemorrhage – first aid.
