The Philips HeartStart battery M5070A is a non-rechargeable lithium-manganese battery for the most popular Philips defibrillators – HeartStart FRx and HeartStart HS1. It is covered by a 4-year manufacturer's warranty and is designed for the same period of use.
Its capacity allows at least 200 shocks at maximum energy or 4 hours of continuous operation in therapy mode, and 10 hours in training mode. Before installation the battery can be stored for up to 5 years, and after installation it lasts another 4 years. According to the distributor the battery can also operate at temperatures down to -20°C.
If you often use training mode, consider the training battery with charger for FRx/HS1 – the Philips HeartStart battery will then be reserved for real situations.
Why the Philips HeartStart battery for HS1 and FRx?
It is one battery that fits both of the most popular Philips models, so a company with several devices needs only one type of spare part. The long pre-installation storage period and 4-year warranty make replacements easier to plan.
You will find other batteries in the category AED defibrillator batteries.
AED inspection – what to remember?
The battery and electrodes are the parts of a defibrillator with a limited shelf life. Write down their replacement dates in a visible place, e.g. on a card by the cabinet, and respond immediately to the device's warning signal. After every use of the AED, check the battery status and replace the used electrodes. The Philips HeartStart battery installed in an AED should have its installation date recorded on the inspection card.
