Why choose the TRAUMA KIT wounds modular first aid kit?
This module is prepared for one task: dressing wounds. Gauze, compresses, dressing nets, a foam bandage and a triangular bandage let you choose a dressing to suit the size of the wound, while wound closure strips and plasters complete it for minor cuts. The Burncare hydrogel dressing 5×15 cm is an additional type of dressing in the set. The kit is suitable for homes, offices, companies, public offices, schools and nurseries, as well as for sports events, cycling trips and scout camps. If you need dressings for minor wounds, TRAUMA KIT wounds modular first aid kit provides gauze, bandages, plasters and wound closure strips.
The Stop Hemo tampon is made of natural alginate fibres. On contact with blood it forms a gel and is intended for nosebleeds, and it can also be used as a dressing on other wounds. The module covers minor bleeding. Equipment for massive bleeding is described in the article A first aid kit ready for massive bleeding. In the orange and green versions, the TRAUMA KIT wounds modular first aid kit has a similar set of dressings, but differs in the number of plasters and in the extras.
How to use the kit for wounds and bleeding
First check that the scene is safe, then put on the gloves and mask. For a cut or graze, treat the wound with a gauze compress or gauze and secure the dressing; you can clean the skin around the wound with a disinfectant wipe. For massive bleeding, call for help on 999 or 112 and press directly on the wound straight away. This module is intended for minor bleeding and does not contain a tourniquet, so life-threatening bleeding from a limb requires separate equipment.
The rules for dealing with heavy bleeding are described in the section Massive haemorrhage – first aid.
