TRAUMA KIT hypothermia first aid kit is module H of the modular TRAUMA KIT first aid kit system, created to protect a casualty from cooling. It can work as a stand-alone, ready-to-use set or as an element of the modular TRAUMA KIT first aid kit. The contents were prepared by experienced medical Rescuers.
Inside you will find: a 3-layer CVN thermal blanket for adults, a Lifesystems Survival Bag LM2090 rescue sleeping bag, NRC foil / thermal blanket, an aluminium cap, a buff-style neck gaiter with print, 3 body warmers, LAHTI insulated fleece gloves and 2 coffee sweets. These are complemented by rescue scissors, storm matches (6 pcs, 1 pack), silvertape repair tape, a chemical light, 10 cable ties and instructions.
The set is available in two variants: Orange (code TKS371) and Green (code TKS371_MIL). The green variant comes in a discreet colour. The dimensions of the kit are 13 x 22 x 9 cm. Why the TRAUMA KIT hypothermia first aid kit?
A lowered body temperature can lead to organ damage and cardiac arrest, and hypothermia that goes unnoticed or is treated too late can be life-threatening. This set brings together in one place what limits further heat loss: a thermal blanket, NRC foil and a rescue sleeping bag, plus an aluminium cap, neck gaiter and gloves that protect the head, neck and hands. How to proceed when a casualty is suffering from hypothermia
First make sure the place is safe for you and the casualty, then call for help on 999 or 112. Until the emergency services arrive, limit further heat loss: cover the casualty with a blanket, foil or rescue sleeping bag, and protect the head, neck and hands. The set also includes instructions.
