Why the TRAUMAKIT Mini 4 KRZA first aid kit?
TRAUMAKIT Mini 4 KRZA first aid kit divides the equipment into four modules, so in the event of an injury you reach for the one the situation requires. Each module contains disposable nitrile gloves, so hand protection is within reach whichever module you choose.
One set gives you equipment for several types of incident: an Israeli dressing for bleeding, an NRC foil/thermal blanket, a Sam Splint for a suspected fracture and a Pocket Mask for CPR. You will find a broader discussion of equipment for massive bleeding in the article A first aid kit ready for massive bleeding.
Use: TRAUMAKIT Mini 4 KRZA first aid kit for an injury
Start with your own safety and the casualty's safety, put on gloves and call for help on 999 or 112. In massive bleeding, direct pressure is applied to the wound; the Israeli-type individual dressing from the BLEEDING module is used to treat it. A casualty's survival may depend on a bystander taking action, so it is worth reading the instructions in the module before an incident happens.
If you suspect a fracture or dislocation, immobilise the injured limb with the Sam Splint and the triangular bandage from the FRACTURES module. If the casualty is unresponsive and not breathing normally, call for help and start CPR using the Pocket Mask. Management of bleeding is described in the article Massive haemorrhage – first aid.
