CPR Stat-Padz electrodes are ZOLL electrodes for defibrillating adults, the successors of Stat-Padz electrodes. They work best with the ZOLL AED Plus and ZOLL AED Pro defibrillators.
The set consists of two separate Stat-Padz II electrodes, one of which has an integrated CPR sensor. The sensor sends the defibrillator information about chest compressions, so the device can tell the rescuer whether they are compressing correctly. The electrode with the sensor can be used as a set or separately (the sensor can be torn off), giving freedom in choosing where to place it.
The electrodes carry instructions for placing them on the body. The lead is approx. 120 cm (approx. 40 cm outside the packaging), and the shelf life is up to 24 months. According to the manufacturer, the electrodes are also compatible with ZOLL AED 3, AED 3 BLS and the R Series, X Series and Propaq MD defibrillators. CPR Stat-Padz electrodes are single-use – after a rescue a new set must be fitted.
A one-piece alternative is the CPR-D padz electrodes, and the version without a sensor – Stat-Padz II electrodes.
When to choose CPR Stat-Padz electrodes?
Two separate electrodes are easier to fit to an unusual body shape or chest injuries than a one-piece electrode. CPR Stat-Padz electrodes combine this flexibility with a CPR sensor, so the rescuer does not lose feedback on compression quality.
You will find other electrodes in the category AED defibrillator accessories.
AED electrodes – how to apply them?
On an adult, place one electrode below the right collarbone, next to the breastbone, and the other on the left side of the chest, below the armpit. The skin must be bare and dry – if necessary, dry it or remove excess hair. The electrodes are single-use: they must be replaced after use in a rescue, after the packaging has been opened or after the expiry date. Nobody touches the casualty during rhythm analysis and the shock.
