Why choose the TRAUMAKIT Mini wound first aid kit?
This kit is focused on one task: dressing wounds. Besides the compress, gauze, adhesive dressings and elastic bandage, it contains a hydrogel dressing for burns, an eye wash with eye dressings, and tick removers. Disposable gloves and disinfectant wipes are in the same module. TRAUMAKIT Mini wound first aid kit contains both adhesive dressings and gauze, as well as an eye wash and a hydrogel dressing.
The compact size and weight of 0.27 kg make it easy to take the module with you, and the modular design allows you to combine it with other elements of the TRAUMAKIT Mini system. How to use the kit for wounds?
First make sure the scene is safe and put on gloves. If the situation is serious, call for help on 999 or 112. For a minor wound, an adhesive dressing or a dressing from the kit is usually enough. For heavier bleeding, apply a sterile compress or gauze directly to the wound and apply pressure; you can hold the dressing in place with the elastic bandage. The NRC foil blanket/thermal blanket is used to cover the casualty. The kit does not contain a tourniquet - it is a kit for minor wounds, so for life-threatening massive bleeding from a limb, additional equipment is needed.
Remember that action taken by a bystander can decide whether a casualty survives. We describe the procedure for severe bleeding in the article Massive haemorrhage – first aid.
