TRAUMA KIT burns first aid kit (module marked with the letter O) is a first aid kit for burns, based on Burnshield hydrogel dressings. It can be used as a stand-alone first aid kit or added to a larger TRAUMA KIT modular first aid kit.
The kit contains: disposable nitrile gloves, size “L” – 2 pairs, Burnshield hydrogel dressing 10 cm x 10 cm – 5 pcs, Burnshield hydrogel dressing 20 cm x 20 cm – 1 pc, Burnshield hydrogel dressing 75 ml – 1 pc, adhesive tape 2.5 cm x 5 m – 1 pc, dressing net no. 4 – 30 cm – 1 pc, dressing net no. 8 – 30 cm – 1 pc, NRC foil (thermal blanket) – 2 pcs and a first aid instruction leaflet – 1 pc.
The kit is intended, among others, for restaurants, workplace kitchens and other workplaces where the risk of burns is increased, as well as for the home, the office and travel. Why does the TRAUMA KIT burns first aid kit focus on one type of injury?
A second of exposure to a substance at a temperature above 70°C, for example a hot liquid or steam, is enough to damage the skin. TRAUMA KIT burns first aid kit contains Burnshield hydrogel dressings in three sizes. The TRAUMA KIT burns first aid kit therefore lets you match the dressing to the size of the burnt area, from 10 cm x 10 cm to 20 cm x 20 cm.
Hydrogel dressings have a high water content and high heat capacity, which soothes burnt areas. They are sterile and do not stick to the wound, so changing the dressing is easy and painless, and they also allow gas exchange. Dressing nets no. 4 and no. 8 and the adhesive tape complete the kit with items for securing the wound.
First aid rules for burns
First make sure you are safe and stop the factor that caused the burn. For an extensive or serious burn, call 999 or 112, and cool the burnt area with cool running water for no less than 10 and no more than 20 minutes. Put on the gloves from the kit before touching the casualty, then protect the burn with a hydrogel dressing.
